is Executive Director at NTTP-I. He has more than 19 years of professional experience in the field of media, political analysis, peacebuilding, conflict transformation and electoral affairs. He has worked for 8 years in UN carrying out various responsibilities related to conflict prevention,peace building, political analysis and political coordination and dialogue facilitation. He has worked extensively for rolling out UNDP’s Conflict Prevention Programme in all five development regions of Nepal and headed western regional office of and Social Cohesion and Democratic Participation Program in Pokhara as Regional Dialogue Coordinator for two years. His experience includes Coordination and Liaison Officer with Peacebuilding and Recovery Unit, Political
Affairs Officer with UNMIN and media and outreach consultant with UNDP’s SKILLS Program. Before joining the UN, Mr Acharya was a journalist with Republica English Daily, The Kathmandu Post, Associated Press, Times of India and Space Time Today for nearly a decade. He has also worked as district focal person for Election Commission of Nepal in Khotang and Rasuwa during 1994 and 1997 elections, and has taught Political Science in Modern Indian School. He holds Master’s Degree in Political Science from TU and MPhil in English from Pokhara University.
