Mr. Birendra P. Mishra

is an eminent member of Nepal’s civil society and a regular contributor of opinion pieces in major national dailies. After two decades of experience as a Professor of Philosophy in Tribhuvan University, he was appointed as Commissioner of the Election Commission, Nepal (1994-2000) where he oversaw two parliamentary elections. He also briefly served as the Coordinator of the National Monitoring Committee on Code of Conduct for Ceasefire (NMCC)formed to monitor the ceasefire arrangements between the Government of Nepal and the Maoists until the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) was signed in November, 2006.
